Pastor Walt and Lisa Byrd serve The Sanctuary as College and Career pastors and oversee The Helps Ministries. In 1971 Walt began his ministry as an evangelist, preaching extensively throughout the southeastern United States.
Since 1985, Pastor Walt has served in the positions of Youth Pastor, Christian Education Pastor, Singles Pastor, Associate Pastor and Lead Pastor. Lisa loves Medical Missions and Pastor Walt loves missionary work. They both have participated in numerous trips to Central America, Haiti and Bulgaria. Pastor Walt and Lisa founded and built new church facilities in Dublin, Georgia. As Lead Pastors, they and their congregation financed the construction of a mission church in Rozenova, Bulgaria.
Walt and Lisa’s greatest and deepest desire is to see men and women come to know Christ. They have three sons – Tim, Lance and Brock. The latest Byrd addition is their new granddaughter, Lola Greyson, baby sister to grandson Max.
