Where We’ve Been

In July of 1994 a small group of 37 friends met together to discuss forming a new congregation in Savannah, GA. After several meetings and a great deal of prayer they determined they wanted a church that was strongly Pentecostal, yet free from denominational control. They contacted Pastor Larry W. McDaniel and asked him to pray about being a part of this new fellowship. Pastor McDaniel met first with a small group of men and the following Sunday with the congregation at Bethesda Whitefield Chapel and was selected to be the pastor of the new church.

The new church’s first regular meeting place was at the Central Assembly of God on Whitefield Ave. For the next two years we met on Sundays at 2:00 PM and on Thursday evenings for Bible Study. While at Central we adopted our constitution and by-laws and elected our officers. We also began a serious search for a permanent location. We were able to purchase and pay cash for our first 8.5 acres, located less than a mile from where we were worshipping and less than 2 miles from our first meeting place.

During that first 2 years we were able to complete our first two buildings and enter our new home.

Since that time we have grown in number and have increased our property to 15 acres. We have completed our third building which houses our Child Learning and Development Center as well our Youth Center and classrooms for Christian Education. Plans have been completed for our next building which will be a 1200 seat Worship Center.
