Dr. Hugo S. Hammond has been a part of the Sanctuary’s Pastoral Staff for nine years. He serves as a family and personal counselor, and as leader of the Trailblazers, the church’s group of those 50 and older. He brings a vast range of experience, having served as pastor of six congregations and serving twenty-three years as a U. S. Navy Chaplain. His military assignments included three years as the Navy’s Family Enrichment Officer in Washington, DC. He achieved the senior officer rank of Navy Captain (O-6), and the special training received in counseling enables him to provide skilled and confidential assistance today.
Our founding pastors, Larry and Annette McDaniel, bring to our church more than 40 years of ministerial experience. Their ministry began in 1966 when Pastor McDaniel resigned his secular profession in Sanford, Florida to become a full time evangelist. Their first pastorate was in Deland, Florida. They have since served as Senior Pastors at the River Road New Testament Church of God in Bridgetown, Barbados, Calvary Temple in New Port Richey, Florida, Pasadena Blvd. Church of God in Pasadena, Texas, Coastal Cathedral in Savannah, Georgia and the North Cleveland Church of God in Cleveland, Tennessee.
The McDaniels spent over 10 years as missionaries in Barbados, West Indies, the Republic of Haiti, and Western Europe. Pastor McDaniel has had the opportunity of traveling and preaching the gospel across America and around the world.
Pastor Larry and Annette McDaniel became the founding pastors of The Sanctuary of Savannah in August of 1994.
Having been raised on the mission field, Todd McDaniel has a compassion for lost and hurting people regardless of race or social status. For the past two decades, Todd has served the Body of Christ as Media Pastor, Youth Pastor, Evangelist, Missionary, and Senior Pastor. In 2002, he was set forth as an Ordained Bishop by the Church of God out of Cleveland Tennessee. Since August of 2006, Todd has worked side-by-side with his father, Founding Pastor Larry McDaniel, serving as Pastor of the Sanctuary of Savannah. Todd is committed to a vision of reaching the lost and hurting in Savannah with a message of salvation and power.
